Madonna, on her return to MTV’s Video Music Awards, won Artist of the Year while also delivering a showstopping medley of songs from her latest album, Confessions II.
The Queen of Pop wore numerous outfits during the event, accepting each award in a different ensemble as she cycled through increasingly daring costumes.
One particular change saw the “Material Girl” icon don a corset and leather shorts along with $2.7 million worth of Leviev diamonds in the form of a necklace and rings, which she was wearing while she chatted and posed with Taylor Swift.
Elsewhere at the VMA’s, Taylor Swift made a shimmery appearance to collect the Artist Director gong, an award that appears to have ben invented for her.
During the ceremony, Swift wore her 10-carat old mine cut engagement ring with its delicately hand-engraved yellow gold band by New York designer Kindred Lubeck, and her $16,000 diamond-set gold wedding band.
Taylor added a little extra sparkle to her shimmering Tamara Ralph gown with the Etho Maria Diamond Brushed ring and Royale Forever Diamonds NY ring by Leviev Diamonds. She also wore the maker’s elaborate diamond Dangle earrings, and extra diamond studs by Anita Ko.
This latest look comes just days after Swift put aside her engagement and wedding ring stack and showcased another emerald-cut diamond ring in a promotional image to accompany her latest single, ‘Patient Zero’, which was released on September 22.
Back to Madonna and the pop icon made quite the memorable appearance during her halftime show performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final in New York.
Flanked by Brazilian legends, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho, the singer and actor’s performance was largely pre-recorded but when she did step out onto the field, she was wearing a shimmering pink and purple jacket (emblazoned with ‘Madonna’ and the number 10), a corset and knee-high lace-up boots, she donned a pair of crystal-set fingerless gloves, sunglasses and a matching crystal choker necklace by Giovanna Engelbert at Swarovski, plus a pair of huge sparkling hoop earrings.
Jewelley has been a big part of Madonna’s ensemble throughout the promotion of her Confessions II album.
Announcing the well-received album earlier this year, Madonna wore a pair of aquamarine and diamond drop earrings by London-based jeweller, Hirsh.
Part of the maker’s ‘Regal’ line, the jewels feature 4.88 carats of detachable aquamarine drops and 0.60 carats of white diamonds, all set in 18K white gold.
“It is an honour to see Madonna wearing Hirsh in celebration of Confessions II,” says Sophia Hirsh, owner and creative director of Hirsh London. “She has long been an inspiration to me, and I truly admire her passion and unique ability to reinvent herself while always remaining unmistakably Madonna.”
