Princess Maria-Nives von der Leyen has announced her engagement to Prince Georg of Lichtenstein with the wedding scheduled for next summer in Germany.
The news was revealed by Georg’s parents, Hereditary Prince Alois and Hereditary Princess Sophie in a statement: “HRH Hereditary Prince Alois and HRH Hereditary Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein are delighted to announce the engagement of their son Prince Georg to Princess Maria-Nives von der Leyen.”
Alongside the announcement, a picture of the happy couple was released to the public where the bride to be’s ring can be seen.
The ring is a subtle piece and features a warm yellow centre stone framed by a halo of brilliant white diamonds.
Engagement ring expert Nilesh Rakholia says: “The first thing that catches my eye is the contrast between the warm centre stone and the surrounding white diamonds. It gives the ring a romantic, almost vintage quality, while still feeling very elegant and refined.”
He adds: “It is also different from the oversized celebrity engagement rings we have seen go viral recently. Rather than relying on sheer size to make an impact, this ring gets its presence from the colour of the centre stone, the halo and the proportions of the setting.”
“From the photograph, I would estimate the centre stone to be somewhere around 2 to 3 carats, although there are no official specifications available yet. It is difficult to be precise from one photograph, particularly when the ring is not shown in a close-up.”
Rakholia estimates that, if the centre stone is a natural yellow diamond of good quality, the ring could be worth approximately £22,000–£55,000, depending on the exact makeup of the stones.
Another notable engagement ring from this year is Zoe Kravitz’s, which she received from fiancé Harry Styles.
Kravitz finally gave fans a closer look at her diamond engagement ring at a summer party thrown by jeweller Jessica McCormack in London.
Dressed in dreamy summer white, Kravitz looked every inch the prospective bride, and she happily posed for the camera with her elongated, cushion-cut diamond ring on full display.
The piece is thought to be by McCormack, for whom Kravitz is a brand ambassador, and features a yellow gold band set with an 8 to 10 carat diamond – not entirely unlike Taylor Swift’s engagement ring from Travis Kelce, which was designed by New York jeweller, Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry. McCormack was also responsible for creating Zendaya’s button-backed engagement ring from actor Tom Holland, and the couple secretly tied the knot earlier this year.
The Watermelon Sugar singer, 32, and Kravitz, 37, were first linked back in August 2025, when they were spotted taking a romantic walk together in Rome, whilst the actress was on a press tour.
