Bringing a piece of history to the Scottish coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, Kate paid a touching tribute to Queen Elizabeth II by wearing one of her famous Garrard necklaces.
The necklace consists of pearls gifted to Queen Elizabeth during her first state visit to Japan in 1975, constructed into a beautiful necklace by court jeweller Garrard.
Garrard, who have created iconic pieces of jewellery for the Royal Family since being appointed Crown Jeweller in 1843, connected the four strands of pearls together with a sparkling circle of diamonds. Each side consists of three rows of diamonds which join and taper at the top and bottom with marquise diamonds.

Kate has previously worn the necklace at both Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September last year and Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021.

The Princess of Wales paired the elegant necklace with a royal blue Catherine Walker coatdress, a Philip Treacy hat, and matching blue heels, a clear tribute to the blue Scottish flag. Alongside the historical necklace, she wore matching pearl and diamond drop earrings previously owned by Princess Diana.

Kate paid further tribute to the former Princess of Wales by wearing one of her pearl bracelets, designed by Nigel Milne in 1988. Princess Diana famously wore the bracelet with her iconic ‘Elvis’ dress in Hong Kong and at the Birthright charity ball in 1989.
