TAG Heuer and Oracle Red Bull Racing have been business partners since 2016, and to mark ten years of a successful relationship, they are releasing a new watch.
Fresh off Max Verstappen’s victory at the Singapore Grand Prix at the weekend, TAG have unveiled a new colourway for their Formula 1 Solargraph with a strong Red Bull theme apparent throughout. The dial and bezel are both a luxurious blue, while the minutes scale is a bright red, echoing the colours of the energy drinks giant turned sporting juggernaut. Interestingly, the famous Red Bull logo does not feature on the face watch but the branding of the racing team is adorned on the caseback, along with an engraving which reads: “Red Bull Racing Formula One Team Special Edition”.
The specifications of the watch are the same as other models with a 38mm case made out of steel and given a sandblasted finish.
Like the other watches in the Formula 1 range, this piece is powered by the TH50-00 calibre, which uses both natural and artificial light to keep its power.
While TAG have confirmed that this is a limited edition release, they have not said how many watches will be hitting the market. The watch will also retail for £1,900 with online access beginning October 20.
TAG Heuer recently announced they were deepening their ties with Formula 1 by becoming the title sponsor of next year’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
TAG, who have previously been the title sponsor of the Monaco Grand Prix and the Spanish Grand Prix, and are currently a major partner of the Red Bull team, have been associated with Formula 1 for decades, sponsoring the likes of Aryton Senna.
“For TAG Heuer to be title partner for the 2027 British Grand Prix is an honour and a privilege for us. As one of the most storied tracks on the calendar, and the location of the first ever official Formula 1 race more than 75 years ago, it is also located in one of the key markets for TAG Heuer today making it all the more of a moment for us to celebrate the incredible relationship between our maison and motorsport,” said Béatrice Goasglas, CEO of TAG Heuer in a statement.
The company also have a strong history with Silverstone itself, creating the Heuer Silverstone in 1974, inspired by the iconic racing track and the history of British motorsport with the watch serving as a successor to the Monaco.
It has not yet been confirmed what the sponsorship will entail for watch fans but there will be fingers crossed for a new model, especially if it’s a relaunch of the Silverstone, which last received an update in 2010 with a limited edition run.
