Both Zendaya and Anne Hathaway understood the assignment and opted to wear ancient jewellery to the official photocall for The Odyssey in London. Check out all the details of their looks below.
In recent years, dressing for film junkets has become akin to a competitive sport, with celebrities theming their outfits to generate maximum excitement about their upcoming projects.
Witness Margot Robbie’s sensational sartorial turns for the press tours of both Wuthering Heights and Barbie, which were perfectly coordinated right down to their thematic jewels.

And of course there’s Zendaya who, together with her longtime ‘image architect’ Law Roach, never fails to create incredible press moments for her upcoming films with outrageously beautiful statement looks, all intricately planned and full of Easter egg-like details for fans to decipher. She’s channelled ‘wedding belle’ chic for The Drama, served up tennis style fabulousness for the Challengers press tour, layered up futuristic ensembles for the Dune premieres and sashayed down the red carpet in web-like gowns for Spiderman films.
Now, as she prepares for a round of appearances to promote Christopher Nolan’s latest film, The Odyssey, in which she plays the goddess Athena, Zendaya is clearly leaning into outfits inspired by the ancient world. Ahead of the film’s official London premiere, she rocked a heavenly, all white gown for a rooftop photo call, and accessorised with a pair of earrings between 2,000 and 3,000 years old sourced by Barron London – the Mayfair store known for its curation of vintage treasures and objets d’art.
Originally created by British designer Glenn Spiro, Zendaya’s dramatic 18K gold earrings feature discs engraved with sun motifs dating from the 1st millenium BC, remounted and set with diamonds. She paired these show-stopping jewels with an old mine cut diamond ring, as well as a selection of stacked ‘Twist’ and marquise diamond rings in yellow gold from Barron London’s own collection.

Meanwhile, Zendaya’s co-star Anne Hathaway – who plays Penelope, the faithful wife of Matt Damon’s Odysseus – opted for an equally ancient jewel in the form of a rose gold and diamond Monete Catene high jewellery secret watch, featuring a sliding cover set with a silver coin bearing the likeness of emperor Caracalla.
Also known as the emperor Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, Caracalla ruled over Rome from 198 to 211 AD with his father Septmius Severus, and then alone from 211 until he was assassinated in 217 AD.
With such faultless looks inspired by the ancient world coming at us even before The Odyssey premieres, it seems fans can expect plenty more Old World charm from Zendaya and Anne Hathaway as this press tour continues.
