France’s coolest makeup artist Violette_Fr launches face jewels

“When jewelry becomes more than just adornment – when it transforms into an art form, a statement, an extension of who you are. It’s the magical expression that completes your unique masterpiece,” teased makeup artist Violette Serrat on her brand’s Instagram recently.

Having worked for two decades as a makeup artist, Serrat’s career has spanned international mega-brands such as Dior, Estée Lauder and Guerlain, and she has embellished the faces of everyone from Adele to Madonna. She was also an early adopter of social media, demonstrating her signature French ‘cool girl’ looks to a legion of loyal beauty lovers on her YouTube and Instagram channels, becoming a high-profile influencer in the process.

Her pivotal moment, however, came just after the pandemic, when she launched her own clean beauty brand, Violette_Fr, in 2021, after three years of development. Together with her easy-to-follow ‘how to’ videos, her effortless and blendable formulas quickly became bestsellers, and now Serrat can count facial jewels amongst her multi-category must haves. Her self-adhesive crystal drops for eyelids and face have been inspired by American photographer Man Ray’s iconic image ‘Larmes’ (otherwise known as ‘Glass Tears’), as well as Serrat’s previous experience of working with adornments such as rhinestones, flowers, glitter and gold leaf. “They transform a look from flat to extraordinary, adding depth, intrigue and a touch of the unexpected,” she has stated.
