‘Wicked: One Wonderful Night’: Cynthia Erivo wears stunning MARLI jewellery

The Tony, Emmy, and Grammy-award winning artist wore a curated mix of 20 MARLI pieces totalling more than 65+ carats of diamonds – check it out below.

The cast of ‘Wicked’ and ‘Wicked: For Good’ came together at the Dolby Theatre in LA for a special concert performance to celebrate the release of the second part of the movie musical on November 21st.

Cynthia Erivo wore pieces from some of MARLI’s most iconic collections, many containing a stunning Mint Garnet as a bright green nod to her time as Elphaba Thropp.

Darli: “A New York Affair” High Style Jewelry collection

Stepping back into Elphaba’s shoes for a performance of ‘For Good’ alongside her very own Glinda The Good, Ariana Grande, and original Broadway performers Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, Erivo wore a dazzling Darli necklace.

The piece featured diamonds set in 18K White Gold and Mint Garnet from the “A New York Affair” High Style Jewellery collection by MARLI New York with a diamond weight of 16.15- carats.

Erivo wore a host of jewels from the brand’s Cleo collection, many with green gemstones as a subtle nod to Elphaba.

The jewellery at the London premiere of Wicked

Oof, the red carpet jewels trotted out on blockbuster world press tour for Wicked have been so stellar, they’ve defied gravity. London’s premiere of the highly anticipated film was certainly no exception, with the stars of the musical movie donning some subtler, but no less sensational, pieces for the city’s witchy celebration at the Royal Albert Hall.

Londoner Cynthia Erivo chose diamond sparklers from De Beers for her homecoming appearance, accessorising her dramatic Schiaparelli gown with the aptly named Thames Path Earrings and a selection of dazzling De Beers rings, all set with white and coloured diamonds.

Her co-star, Ariana Grande, was resplendent in a butter yellow gown (a gentle nod to the Yellow Brick Road) and a set of affordable Swarovski jewellery (the musician is an ambassador for the brand). She chose the Matrix Tennis necklace, Matrix Vittore ring and Stilla stud earrings.

Michelle Yeoh, who plays professor Madame Morrible in the film, opted for a set of spectacular (and totally on-trend) emerald cabochon and diamond high jewellery earrings and a pink and white diamond bangle, both by London jewellers Moussaieff. She also picked a suitably green Richard Mille wrist watch for the occasion.

The ever-suave Jonathan Bailey also donned an elegant timepiece for the night – in his case he picked a yellow gold Omega De Ville Tresor watch with a gloriously green malachite hard stone dial. Look carefully, and you’ll see he also embellished his tuxedo shirt with a set of custom emerald buttons by jeweller Emily P Wheeler.

The Wizard of Oz himself, Jeff Goldblum (who, together with his wife Emilie, wore head-to-toe Burberry for the event), chose a Cartier watch for his grand appearance at the London premiere of Wicked – the last premiere ahead of the film’s public debut.

Cynthia Erivo looked undeniably Wicked in a suite of diamond and emerald high jewellery by Italian jeweller Roberto Coin for the Los Angeles première of her latest musical film.

The British actor and singer accessorised her vibrant green latex gown from Louis Vuitton (with matching stole, naturally) with an 18k white gold, diamond and emerald collar (worth$750,000) from Coin’s Haute Couture Collection, a pair of shimmering 18k white gold and diamond ‘Stelle Button’ earrings (worth $59,600) from the Cento Collection, and a a clutch of 18k white gold, diamond and emerald rings from the Love in Verona Collection.

“I purposefully created this cascade of diamonds with a teardrop of happiness with a simple emerald,” says Roberto Coin of the statement collar he designed. “The soft cascade design fits perfectly, thanks also to the artistic manufacture of our Italian artisans who realised the collier. White and green looks perfect on Cynthia Erivo, and we are happy to be part of this precious premiere, with a film that is very much anticipated.”

Working with her stylist Jason Bolden, Erivo has pulled out some impressively on-theme ensembles for the round-the-world press tour ahead of Wicked’s general release, including a full green outift and accessories for the 2024 Academy Awards and a black velvet hooded gown to this year’s CFDA Awards. For the movie’s world premiere in Oz itself (Australia), Erivo also opted for Roberto Coin jewels, pairing another sculptural, witchy Louis Vuitton gown with a velvet choker adorned with an 18k white gold and diamond lion’s head motif.

“I recognized this woman who didn’t feel like she was the same as everyone, that felt like she was a little bit odd and a little bit out of it. And I just remember thinking, ‘I get that, I understand that.’ And it’s been something I’ve gone back to now,” Erivo has told interviewers, of what it means to her to play Elphaba, one of the movie’s two protagonists.

It’s the mega Broadway adaptation that’s slated to be an even bigger film than Barbie. After months of build up – and some very on-brand red carpet dressing – the stars are finally about to step onto that blessed Yellow Brick Road to celebrate the release of John M. Chu’s new musical film, Wicked.
