Penélope Cruz wears Zoya sapphires at TIFF

Penélope Cruz made a striking appearance on Tuesday evening at the Toronto International Film Festival for the special screening premiere of La Bola Negra, wearing Zoya High Jewellery, the luxury jewellery atelier from the Tata Group.

La Bola Negra (The Black Ball) appears breaks in US cinemas next month before its showing on Netflix in December. The new film is from acclaimed Spanish directors Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, which premiered in Competition at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and earned a rapturous twenty minute standing ovation from the audience.

It was inspired by one of Federico García Lorca’s unfinished works and the film intertwines the lives of three men across three different eras, exploring desire, sexuality, pain and inheritance and also stars Spanish actor Miguel Bernardeau. It is anticipated to be one of the biggest foreign language films of 2026 and is highly tipped to be an award winner in 2027.

Penélope Cruz wore the Zoya Rekindle Necklace, featuring 19 carats of golden heliodor accented with yellow and pink sapphires, alongside the Wildflower Heart Ring, centred by a spectacular 13-carat amethyst in Zoya’s proprietary Bloom Cut, surrounded by pink sapphires and diamonds.

At the TIFF premiere Penélope wore high jewellery from Indian house Zoya, including the Rekindle Necklace, featuring 19 carats of golden heliodor accented with yellow and pink sapphires, alongside the Wildflower Heart Ring, centred by a spectacular 13-carat amethyst in Zoya’s proprietary Bloom Cut, surrounded by pink sapphires and diamonds.

Zoya used the opportunity to dress Cruz to debut its upcoming High Jewellery collection, a visual and contemporary expression of India’s rich jewellery craftsmanship and heritage, inspired by the array of spices, heat and colours of the Indian sub continent.
